Is Unemployment Compensation Received From Hawaii Subject To Hawaii’s Income Tax If Received As A Nv Resident?

I moved from Hawaii to Nevada in 2006. While in Nevada, I received Hawaii unemployment compensation.

  1. When you sign up for unemployment ,you have the option to allow the unemployment department to withhold a percentage (usually 10 %) for income taxes, or not.
    Depending on how much you’ve paid in taxes while you were working and how long you were drawing benefits, you may or may not want to have income taxes withheld.
    I have never opted to have taxes withheld and have never needed to.
    Personal choice, just don’t see any reason to let them use my money when I can put it to better use.
