Does Getting An Unemployment Insurance Award Mean I Am Getting An Unemployment Check?
I recently filed for unemployment and they sent me an Notice of Unemployment Insurance Award with a total amount of money I would be getting per week. But then I also got a notice of telephone interview. Does the award mean I am getting money?

The “Notice of Unemployment Insurance Award” tells you how much you will get if you get anything. This means that you at least worked enough quarters and earned enough money. The telephone interview is to determine something else, such as why you are not currently employed. You may or may not receive a check. Ask during the telephone interview. Unless they need to verify something later, they may be able to tell you.
It sure does but you need to talk with someone 1st you might get a Lump Sum Check then a weekly check..when Hubby Filed he got 10 checks in one day then weekly checks.Good Luck
There are different types of award letters. First you have to qualify for it by paying in either self employment insurance or you employer paying in so many qualifying quarters. They can tell you your accumulated benefits that can be paid out until the insurance runs out. Or the weekly amount. Also you must have to qualify for the weekly work search requirements. You must register with the state unemployment office for job placement. They may be calling you to verify what requirements you must meet or to question if you have meet them. In our state they let you dial in your report now it was a form letter that you fill in and send in to them to be checked. Also I was able to send out resumes to apply after I graduated and presented them with a copy of it. Before then I had to fill out at least three applications. You MUST report this activity to get your check! They wanted to know if I had a face to face interview and who it was with so they can verify that you are making an effort to look for work. If you do not you will be disqualified for one week. Also your award letter may ask you to wait for up to 8 weeks if it was determined that you were at fault in your work stoppage at your last job. Even if you had not been there long enough to draw from that employer, though you have some previous qualifications through previous work.
Best of all if you review found that you were not at fault then you could be getting back weekly payments to the first full week of unemployment as a lump sum determination if you have meet your weekly requirements
